Ma’s
Part of my new collection “B+ Poetry"
Ma’s
Many have gathered around,
The wooden table.
Scratched and worn,
From events written in our memories.
Sweet tea in Mason jars.
Pumpkin and pecan pies.
Laughter, like the warm home,
Serious stories now known,
Many have come alone.
Many have gone on home.
She sips her sweet tea,
Reflecting on all
The names she loved.
Those she yearns to hear call.
She sips her sweet tea,
Waiting, hoping, praying someone will gather around,
The wooden table.
Scratched and worn,
From events written in her memory.

Thank you! I've sat at this table and drank sweet tea. I appreciate the warm memories❣️
